The Quick of the Night might – A Frank Zafiro Novel
Having read several of Frank Zafiro’s novels, I’ve always found his work believable and gripping. However, The Quick of the Night might be his best yet. I was fully immersed from start to finish. The antagonist is chilling—a depiction of pure evil—whose masterful portrayal unfolds over two-thirds of the story.
The protagonist is equally compelling. As a retired, old-school police sergeant, I felt as though I walked a mile in her shoes. The challenges she faces are authentic. She draws the reader in because she is human; she usually, though not always, makes the right choice. Whether in law enforcement or as a civilian, the reader will connect with her reality.
Backed by a rich cast of supporting characters—each experiencing their own complex successes and failures—this is an absolute must-read.
For those who want to learn what makes a cop tick, this is for you.
